Bring your flashlight, walking shoes, and imagination for this unique and fascinating tour to some of the family cemeteries that exist in the park-off the beaten path. When: 8:30 PM Where: Visitor Center If you are camping at the park or just want to come by for a good old-fashioned campfire program, then join us at the Oak Ridge Campground Amphitheatre on the evening of Saturday, September 4th, for What's so Scary About Spiders? Ranger Mary will talk about the spiders that call Prince William Forest Park home. When: 8:30 PM Where: Oak Ridge Campground Amphitheatre. Bring the family on Sunday, September 5th, to our craft hour with Ranger Stephanie where they can create fun magnets. Kids of all ages are welcome! When: 10 AM Where: Cabin Camp 3 - A unit craft lodge Mark your calendars for all three of these upcoming events: Heritage Festival: Saturday, September 11th, from 10-4. Come celebrate the history of Prince William Forest Park and enjoy live music, kids games, antique cars, woodworking, food, and much more! See website and attached flyer for details. The Chopawamsic Cycle Challenge: Sunday, September 12th. Come join the Friends of Prince William Forest Park for a scenic bike ride through the park! Registration is at 8:30am at Pine Grove Ballfield. Challenge start is at 9:00. Followed by light refreshments. All ages, all abilities, and lots of fun! It's summer - let's get moving! Prince William Forest Park is one of 20 national parks across the country to participate in the First Lady, Michelle Obama's Let's Get Moving Outside Program. You can pick up a free copy of our Junior Ranger booklet at the visitor center daily from 9 am to 5 pm.
